Admissions
There are three ordinary points of entry — Reception, Year 7 and the sixth form — and we take a small number of pupils into other year groups when a place comes up.
How it works
Visit first. Everything else is easier once you have seen the place on a working day, and we would rather you decided against us in September than in the second term.
Registration closes in the November before entry. Assessment for Year 7 is in early December: papers in English and mathematics, and a conversation with a member of staff. There is nothing to revise for the conversation, and we would ask you not to try.
Offers go out in February. We hold a small number of places for families who move into the area later in the year.
Fees and assistance
Fees are published in full, per term, with no separate charges for textbooks, day trips within the curriculum, or the instrument loan in Years 3 and 4.
About one pupil in nine holds a bursary. Bursaries are means-tested, reviewed annually, and can cover the whole fee. We would rather you asked than assumed.
