Our school
Quadrangle was founded in 1874 as a day school for the town, and it has stayed one. There are four hundred and twenty pupils between the ages of four and eighteen, on forty acres a mile from the centre.
We are not selective in the way that phrase is usually meant. We assess at 11 and at 16, and we turn away children we do not think we can teach well — but we are looking for a child we can make progress with, not for a cohort that will flatter our results.
The buildings are a Victorian core, two indifferent additions from the 1960s, a science block from 2015 and a great many trees. The trees came first and are the reason the site was bought.
